Health Checks
Heart Health | Electrocardiogram (ECG)
Heart attack (Myocardial Infarction) is one of the leading killers of people in the developed world. When people have a heart attack, one of the first things we do in the clinic or a hospital is an ECG or Electrocardiogram.
Why do an ECG?
If you do experience a heart attack, it’s particularly useful if you have a previous ECG to compare to. We’re encouraging as many people as possible to come into the Bush Nursing Centre and spend 10 minutes having an ECG. We keep the ECG in your health records and hopefully, we’ll never have to use it. But if we do, we’ll have an important record to compare it to.
What happens when you have an ECG?
This is a totally non-invasive procedure, which analyses the electrical activity of your heart and prints it out on a graph-like paper. We stick 10 wires onto your chest - you’ll feel nothing - wait while the machine checks your heart. That’s it. Ten minutes and you’re done!
Make the time!
Everyone’s welcome, male and female nurses available.
